Elspeth Beret Knitting Pattern

This is a lovely beret, with a herringbone stitch band and knitted in the soft Debbie Bliss Paloma yarn.

Elspeth Beret Knitting Pattern

This is a lovely beret.  The Herringbone stitch produces such a beautiful pattern, which is especially striking on this super chunky yarn.  Combine my favourite hat shape with a yarn I also love, and I have created an easy to knit, warm and stylish beret.  Quick to knit up on large needles, it takes just two hanks of yarn.  I have chosen this gorgeous Chestnut shade, but any of the lovely Debbie Bliss Paloma shades would look great.

This pattern can be purchased as a downloadable pattern or paper copy that is sent via Royal Mail.

Materials Required:

2 hanks Debbie Bliss Paloma (shade shown is Chestnut 20) or a super chunky/bulky yarn, approximately 142yds/130m
1 pair single pointed needles 10mm/US 15/UK 000
1 pair single pointed needles 9mm/US 13/UK 00

Darning needle to weave in ends and a tape measure

You can also a purchase kit for this project containing the pattern and yarn together.

You’ll love knitting this cowl, and love wearing it even more!  Happy knitting!
